Product Update
Smarter tools for every stage of the RO

Smarter tools for every stage of the RO.
What's new in Shift
From AI-generated inspection plans to 3C write-ups and a faster chat experience, this update makes your technicians and advisors sharper at every step — intake, inspection, diagnosis, and documentation.
Overview
Vehicle Overview & Technician Tips New
The vehicle page now has a dedicated overview with Quick Actions and AI-generated Technician Tips. Advisors can kick off an inspection plan, start a diagnosis, or draft a 3C write-up in one click — while techs get vehicle-specific watchouts surfaced right on the page.
Quick Actions: Inspection Plan, Diagnose Issues, and 3C Write-up — all one click from the vehicle page
Technician Tips generated automatically during RO audit — model-specific failure patterns and inspection notes
Everything on one page: no hunting through menus to get started

Technician Tips and Quick Actions now live together on the vehicle overview — generated from the RO audit, specific to the year, make, and model.
Inspection
AI Inspection Plan New
One click builds a complete, vehicle-specific inspection plan — not a generic checklist. Shift pulls from the vehicle's service history, active DTCs, customer concerns, maintenance status, and known YMM failure patterns to generate priority checks, model watchouts, and history follow-ups, then saves it directly to the RO.
Priority checks ranked by urgency, each tagged DTC, maintenance, or watchout
Model watchouts surfaced from known YMM failure patterns — catches what the history misses
History follow-ups flag overdue services tied to active codes
Saved on the RO; results visible in the modal without re-generating

Priority checks are ranked and tagged by type — DTCs, model watchouts, and history follow-ups — specific to the vehicle in the bay.

Documentation
3C Write-up New
Technicians can now fill in Complaint, Cause, and Correction directly from the vehicle page. The completed write-up seeds a structured chat prompt — Shift uses it to help draft the narrative, flag gaps, or cross-reference history without starting from scratch in the chat.
Structured fields for Complaint, Cause, and Correction — each required before sending
"Send to chat" passes the 3C context directly into a Shift chat session
Helps technicians justify diagnostic time and build customer-ready write-ups faster

Fill Complaint, Cause, and Correction — then send to chat to let Shift help complete and refine the write-up.
Chat
Chat & Procedure Sidebar Upgrades
The chat experience got a significant rebuild. Procedures and TSBs now open in a resizable in-panel sidebar — with a real PDF viewer replacing the old iframe. Width is persisted across sessions. Plus messaging timestamps, better mobile layout, and copy feedback throughout.
Resizable procedure/TSB sidebar — drag to your preferred width; it sticks between sessions
Embedded PDF viewer with page navigation, zoom, and download — TruSpeed and Motor procedures stay in-panel on desktop
Message timestamps now shown in chat and preserved in history
Improved mobile chatbox layout and loading states

Procedures and TSBs open in a resizable in-panel sidebar — the PDF viewer handles navigation, zoom, and download without leaving the chat.
Account
Multiple Altus Drives on One Account New
Shops running more than one Altus Drive no longer need separate logins to keep them straight. Connect every Altus Drive ID to a single Shift account and manage them all from one place.
Add multiple Altus Drive IDs to the same Shift account
Switch between connected drives without signing in and out
Built for shops running more than one bay or location off a shared account
Extension
Rewriter V2: More Languages, Custom Formatting New
The rewriter tool now supports multiple languages and lets you set custom formatting for the output — so write-ups come out the way your shop actually uses them.
Multiple language support for rewritten text
Custom formatting options for the output
Also New
A Few More Improvements
Smaller updates you'll notice around Shift:
Add notes directly to inspection items
Set a display name for custom maintenance jobs
@mention a teammate directly in a vehicle thread to pull them in
New sound and notification when a vehicle thread updates
Front and rear inspection items (axle assembly, strut/suspension) are now tracked separately
Dynamic diagnosis comes back noticeably faster
Fixed: medium-duty tow trucks were getting a false break-in maintenance alert early into their towing miles
Run the extension in a dedicated technician view — toggle without a separate login
All of this is live now.
