We value your privacy. The Shift Service is designed to make data entry easier across shop management software, accounting software, and other tools, and we handle your information responsibly.

What We Collect

• Information you enter into connected systems, only as needed to automate data entry

• Mobile phone numbers

• Basic usage data (like errors or performance issues) to help improve the Extension.

• We do not collect sensitive personal details beyond what is required for automation.

All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

How We Use It

• To automate and speed up your workflow.

• To maintain and improve the Extension.

• To provide support if you need help.

We never sell your data.

Who We Share With

• Only the systems you connect to through the Extension (e.g., shop management or accounting platforms).

• Service providers that help us keep things running.

We don’t share your data with advertisers or unrelated third parties.

Your Control

You can uninstall the Extension at any time to stop all collection and use.

Text Messaging (SMS)
We may send SMS messages to users who have explicitly opted in to receive them. These messages may include account updates, service notifications, and customer support communications. We do not send promotional SMS messages without separate consent. Message frequency may vary. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for help. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

QuickBooks Online (Intuit)

Shift may integrate with QuickBooks Online (“QBO”), a product of Intuit Inc. (“Intuit”), so that an authorized shop administrator can connect their organization’s QBO company to Shift. Shift does not receive your Intuit username or password. Connection uses Intuit’s OAuth authorization flow.

What we access and store

When you connect QBO, Shift may access and store:

• QBO company identity information (such as company name and company/realm ID)

• Chart of Accounts information used to map Shift categories to your QBO accounts

• OAuth access and refresh tokens needed to call Intuit APIs on your behalf (stored encrypted at rest)

• Journal entries Shift creates in your QBO company (for example, daily summary journals), along with related posting status and error information in Shift

• Your account mappings and posting preferences configured in Shift

How we use this information

We use this information solely to provide the QuickBooks integration for your organization—for example, to map accounts, preview and post sales summary journals to your own QBO ledger, show connection status and errors, and support troubleshooting. We do not sell this information. We do not use your QBO data for advertising.

Who can see it

QBO-connected data is available only to authorized users of your Shift organization (subject to your shop and permission settings). We do not allow one customer’s Intuit/QBO data to be used by or shown to another Shift customer.

Sharing

When you use the integration, Shift transmits data to Intuit/QBO as needed to perform the functions you authorized (such as creating journal entries). Intuit’s handling of information in QBO is governed by Intuit’s own terms and privacy policy. We may also use service providers that help us operate Shift (for example, hosting and infrastructure), under appropriate contractual protections. We do not share your QBO connection data with advertisers or unrelated third parties.

Your choices

You can disconnect QuickBooks at any time in Shift (Settings → QuickBooks), which revokes Shift’s stored tokens for your organization. You may also manage or revoke connected apps from within QuickBooks Online. After disconnect, Shift will no longer call Intuit APIs for your company unless you reconnect and authorize again.

Retention

OAuth tokens are retained until you disconnect (or as otherwise required for security or legal obligations). Account mappings, posting preferences, and sync/history records in Shift are retained according to our normal customer data retention practices and your agreement with Shift.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of integration credentials, including encryption of QBO tokens at rest and transmission over HTTPS.
